We know some of y’all have mixed feelings about trash-the-dress shoots, and we’re with ya on that. But Tiffany and Ted’s absolutely awesome paintball TTD shoot is one that just makes us smile. Shot by the terrifically talented Joey Thomas of Joey T Photography at Tank’s Paintball Park in Katy, this shoot is everything a TTD shoot should IOHO: playful, joyful, unique…and just so darn hot.
Side note about Tiffany’s dress: “I bought it a week after I was engaged. My maid of honor and I went to the Brides Against Breast Cancer Tour as our first bridal event. I tried on a couple dresses to get more of an idea of what I liked, and I found the one, for an affordable price and a great cause.”
How cool is that? How gorgeous are Tiffany and Ted? How great is it that they can look so sophisticated, and yet not take themselves too seriously? How CUTE are the color-coordinated accessories and paintball splotches? How much do you love Joey T’s utterly beautiful images?
How’d you like to see yourself and your future hubby through this top Houston wedding photographer’s lens??
Here’s your chance! We are giving away not one but TWO $700 Joey T Photography engagement shoots, complete with two hours of on-location photography in the greater Houston area, and a stunning 16X24 heirloom-quality enlargement (you can, of course, order as many photos as you like…or should we say, love).
TO ENTER: 1) *Like* us Facebook 2) Email us your name, fiancé’s name, wedding date and reception venue, NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT, THURSDAY, OCT. 25. Please enter ONLY ONCE (duplicate entries will be deleted).

Got a bit of nostalgia for days gone by? One of the best ways to bring a vintage vibe into your wedding is with your bridesmaids. We’re crazy for e-shops ModCloth, Ruche and Posh Girl Vintage, which have zillions of 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s-inspired frocks. And where would we be without Etsy when we’re shopping for vintage clutches, shoe clips, charm bracelets, fascinators, lockets and boleros for our dear ’maids? For vintage-look footwear, we’re particularly fond of Kate Spade, Seychelles, Miz Mooz and the inimitable Betsey Johnson. Love the idea of a vintage look for your bridesmaids, but don’t know quite where to start? Locally, Bella Bridesmaid’s savvy consultants can suggest all kinds of ways to add vintage verve to your girls’ getups. So get ON that, now, would y’all?

What’s more delicious than fantasy wedding tablescapes, Italian delicacies, fine wine and bubbly, live entertainment, and more than 35 of Houston’s finest wedding experts and vendors gathered under one gloriously regal roof? All that and a $100 dinner for two at one of Houston’s hottest dining spots—The Bird and the Bear Bistro, from the fine folks at Ouisie’s Table.
A word about Ouisie’s Table—this beautiful Highland Village restaurant, composed of numerous indoor and outdoor dining and celebration spaces, is one of our favorite spots for rehearsal dinners, bridal lunches, day-after brunches, and yes, intimate, elegant, cuisine-focused weddings. While each room has its own unique personality and ambiance, Ouisie’s service and upscale Southern-with-a-twist food are uniformly flawless.
Which is why we were so excited when Ouisie’s debuted its exciting new Westheimer bistro, The Bird and the Bear, last fall. Never been? Think chic black-white-and-red room, bistro fare (escargot, foie gras, roasted salmon), and plenty of Ouisie’s Southern influence. Want to win? We’re giving away dinner for two (a $100 value), to one lucky bride who 1.) snaps up her I Do! Bridal Soiree @ The Corinthian tickets by midnight tonight and 2.) *likes* us on Facebook.
All brides who have purchased I Do! tickets between start of presale and midnight tonight are entered to win. Winner announced Wednesday on Facebook. Good luck, brides.
And we look forward with great pleasure to meeting you on Thursday!

Every now and then we come across someone, or something, really special in the bridal universe. And that’s just how we feel about Jennifer Hancock. The lifelong artist, illustrator and designer, who loved drawing princesses as a child, now makes brides feel like princesses, with her beautiful custom bridal illustrations.
Here’s how it works: You visit Hancock’s Etsy shop, The Illustrated Bride. You “ooh” and “ah” at the lovely bridal gown illustrations, thinking to yourself, “Wow, I would LOVE one of these!” You place your order—which at about $130 a pop is an amazing deal—and Jennifer e-mails you requesting photos of you in your bridal ensemble, either from your wedding day or from a bridal photo session.
She’ll ask you to make sure your photos provide “a clear view of design details such as seams, lace, and intricate beading,” along with accessories like jewelry, footwear and your veil. “The illustrations are completely customizable,” Jennifer explains. “I choose a pose based on the bride’s favorite part of her dress or accessory.” Oh—and while Jennifer’s wedding dress illustrations usually skip the facial features, in the tradition of fashion sketches, if you want more of a “portrait” look, she can add facial features at no extra cost. Turnaround is about two weeks from the time she receives your last photo to the time she ships your finished work. Shortly after that, you receive your beautiful, unique, original, keepsake 8X10 illustration, to display as you wish. Though, for her part, Jennifer says, “I enjoy the thought of an illustration hanging as a conversation piece, or in a child’s room, having been passed down through generations.” Can’t you just picture it?
Got a good friend who’s planning to wed, and access to a few of her bridal photos? Jennifer’s custom illustrations make really amazing gifts, too!
OK, here comes the fun part: One lucky Houston bride will WIN a beautiful custom bridal gown illustration from The Illustrated Bride. To enter just e-mail us your name, fiancé’s name, wedding date and Houston-area wedding venue. Entries must be received by Friday, April 6. Winner will be notified by e-mail and announced on Facebook.
