Photographer Lacy Dagerath of More Than An Image Photography felt an immediate affinity with bride-to-be Rebecca when the two first spoke to each other. And that mutual liking shows through in Dagerath’s joyful, playful, intimate photos of Rebecca and her groom-to-be David, shot on Texas A&M University’s campus, and at the Royalty Pecan Orchard in Caldwell. As for the couple’s romantic friendship-to-romance story, we’ll let bride-to-be (they’re getting hitched next month!) Rebecca tell it in her own words: “I ‘met’ David the first Sunday of my freshman year at Texas A&M University when I went to mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. I am guilty of being a sucker for musicians and there was this cute boy playing guitar and singing at mass! I thought to myself, ‘Catholic and a musician? That is so my future husband!’ Being a singer myself, I decided that I was going to need to join his choir so I could meet him. I joined the next week and after a couple months, David finally learned my name—ha! In his defense, he is terrible with names and I was really intimidated by him. We had a brief period of flirting but ended up not entering into a romantic relationship and went the friendship route instead (which I am now SO grateful for). Through the next five years at A&M, we sang at mass together every Sunday and he became one of my best friends. Our time at A&M and St. Mary’s together was full of ups and downs, but was the true foundation to our relationship today. I moved to Houston in December of 2010. Once we were a city apart and we didn’t have all of this pre-planned time together, we realized it was time to sit down and talk about what ‘we’ were. After lots of discussion and getting over the fear of ruining a wonderful friendship, we went for it and have never looked back—greatest decision ever!” Check out their deeply personal engagement pix, which include some awesome airplane-hangar shots—David is doing his Master’s Degree in Aerospace, and jokingly suggested that he and Rebecca pose “Top Gun”-style…an idea Rebecca loved. No wonder these two are on the runway to “I do!” Congrats and happiest wishes to the to-be-weds, and big thanks to More Than An Image for the terrific photos.

While “the dog did it” is a legendarily convenient excuse for all kinds of stuff, in the case of Andrew’s proposal to Lauren…the dog really did! “Andrew had a tag made that on one side said, ‘I love you,’ and on the other, ‘Will you marry me?’ He hung the tag and the ring on our dog Niko’s collar. I noticed it immediately and though it was some sort of joke. It was perfect! And thankfully it was not a joke,” the bride recounts. For the couple’s 150-guest wedding at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, Lauren opted for white with silver accents as her palette, “which I think is very simple yet extremely sophisticated and elegant,” she says. “It was very important to us that everyone there was a person that touched our lives in some way. That included having our dog there as the best man. The whole night was absolutely amazing. Andrew and I never left the dance floor!” We wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, and send a shout-out to super-talented photographer Adam Nyholt for the beautiful images.

It pays to exercise! Just ask bride Katie, who fell in love with future groom David when the two started working out together in training for a triathlon. “We became good friends, and later did a half marathon together,” Katie tells us. “An engagement was soon to follow…and now so is a baby girl!” We’re so happy for newlyweds, and so delighted to share with you their Woodlands Resort & Conference Center wedding, shot by the very talented Huz Abdul of Kreative Angle Photography. Simple and elegant, with champagne, mocha and navy accent colors and a focus on the beautiful Woodlands Resort surroundings—we are charmed by this sweet wedding and the wonderful couple who shared it with us. We’re just so tickled to be able to show y’all the wedding of Andrea and Alessandro—such a beautiful couple, such a magnificent celebration. The two met a Sunday Funday brunch…and ended up chatting ’til midnight that day. It wasn’t long until the pair realized they were madly in love, and eventually Alessandro proposed to his lovely bride on a trip to San Francisco. “On our second day, after an afternoon biking around Sausalito, he took me to an amazing mountain top for the sunset,” Andrea recounts. “Just as the sun was setting, he got down on one knee and proposed with the spectacular view of San Francisco behind him. It truly was the most amazing day!” Though perhaps not quite as amazing as the day the two tied the knot, with a church ceremony followed by a dazzling black-white-and-silver celebration at downtown Houston’s Hotel ZaZa. The silver-and-crystal candelabra, the dramatic feather accents, the sleek white dance floor—everything about this wedding exuded glamour and drama. Everything, that is, except for the awesome photo-booth fun that was a highlight of the wedding for guests and newlyweds alike, which exuded sheer joy and whimsy. If you’re wondering how Andrea put together such a spectacular wedding, she says she found “90%” of her vendors on her one-day visit to the I Do! Bridal Soiree at the Royal Sonesta (where, incidentally, she was also the lucky winner of our Kindle Fire giveaway—BONUS!). We’re so thankful to Andrea and Alessandro for sharing their special day—big thanks too to photographer Rachel Robinson for sharing her terrific pix.
