Royal Blue, Green, Purple & Silver Wedding by Adam Nyholt Photographer

Not all love stories start off with instant attraction. Just ask Callie, who did not hit it off with Eric when they first met at McGrady’s Pub in Charlottesville, Virginia during the Georgia vs. Florida game. Since they were rooting for opposing teams, Callie was, naturally, NOT a fan of Eric. “I would visit Charlottesville occasionally and he would always come over and ask if I wanted to get a drink with him. I refused,” Eric’s future bride says. Although she consistently turned him down, Eric was determined to get her to go out with him. He eventually reached out through Facebook, which turned into phone calls, FaceTime chats and finally the first date. Which turned into the second date. Then the third, fourth…twenty-seventh, etc. Until that magical day when Callie walked down the aisle in a gorgeous lace Anna Maier gown from Joan Pillow Bridal Salon, accessorized with her mom’s veil, sister’s bridal sash and grandmother’s rosary in her bouquet. “Our wedding was exactly what we wanted,” recounts Callie. “It was such a wonderful feeling to look at each other, know that we were married and surrounded by so many people who love us.” It’s true. Persistence always pays off, right Eric? We couldn’t be happier for the couple, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness. Thanks Adam Nyholt for the lovely photos!

Bright and Beautiful Wedding by Adam Nyholt

It was December 2013 when Ben took Matti on a surprise horse-drawn carriage ride to look at Christmas lights. “We stopped under one of the brightest trees to take a picture and as soon as we started smiling, he turned to me and got down on one knee! I don’t think he even asked me to marry him because he was so nervous. I shook my head ‘yes’ anyway. Our entire family and friends were waiting for us to celebrate!” says Matti.  Their fall, jewel-tone wedding was one for the books. Check out the gorgeous photos by Adam Nyholt and see for yourself…and MEET Adam for yourself at the incredible I Do! Wedding Soiree @ The Four Seasons Hotel on Oct., 18, 2-5 p.m (tickets here)! Congrats, Matti and Ben. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

WEDDINGS IN HOUSTON FALL 2014 | REAL WEDDING FEATURE

Cameron & Bryar ~ October 5, 2013

There’s something to be said for spontaneity, notes bride Cameron, whose then-boyfriend Bryar “proposed completely out of the blue at my apartment on a lazy Sunday afternoon.”  While the proposal may have been less than formal, the couple’s Galveston wedding was a grand celebration at the historic Tremont House hotel, where 300 guests enjoyed gourmet Texas specialties—seafood gumbo, shrimp and grits, beef brisket—along with DIY Champagne cocktails, glamorous boas, and dancing on a magnificent monogrammed white dance floor. The bride’s favorite memory? “Dancing a father-daughter dance to ‘My Girl.’”

WEDDINGS IN HOUSTON FALL 2014 | REAL WEDDING FEATURE

Jordan and Moises ~ March 15, 2014

“Hook, line and sinker,” is how Jordan describes her feeling about Moises when the then-Sigma-Chi-president texted her, “I like your boots,” following the fraternity-chapter meeting where the two first met working on a philanthropic project. While Moises proposed in Paris, the couple’s wedding was Tex-Mex all the way, from their Houston Livestock Show rehearsal dinner to their menu of chips-and-queso, tamales and plantain-crusted chicken, to the custom Texas-flag boots the bride wore at her reception—which took place, incidentally, at her family’s vast horse ranch, where Jordan spent much of her youth. With their wedding, she adds, she and Moises strove for “a tasteful balance between our down-to-earth roots and our love for rich color and bold decor—basically the chicest darn ranch shindig this cowgirl has ever seen!”
