Nikki and Garrett were best friends in high school, but it wasn’t until years later when their romance began. “We met back up in our hometown in 2012 over Christmas break and the rest is history!” Nikki says. Following a romantic proposal on the Austin 360 Bridge, the couple gathered 150 of their closest family and friends to seal their union of love in an elegant ceremony. For their luxe Chateau Cocomar wedding, the pair opted for a dazzling array of sparkling crystals, white florals and gold accents–including an “OMG!” cake from Cakes By Gina. As for fairytale wedding setting Chateau Cocomar, “The venue was everything I could have imaged for my special day,” recalls the bride. “There are no words to describe my amazing wedding, you have to see pictures!” We couldn’t agree more…so check ’em out here. And join us in wishing a lifetime of happiness to this sweet couple! Click here to read the rest of this post »

This week, as all of us take shelter, rebuild and regroup from the unprecedented deluge of Hurricane Harvey, and take stock of everything that is dear and precious to us, we will be sharing some of our favorite weddings of the last few years. If you need an escape, a moment of peace, a reminder of the importance of family, friends and, above all, love, please settle in, snuggle down and join us. And once the storm clouds clear, and the water recedes, let us know what we can do to help you. We are all in this together. #BeStrongHouston #LoveConquersAll

Sometimes your high school love turns into forever. Just ask Houston bride, Lynnette, who married her high school boyfriend, Marco. “We met in high school math class in 2006,” says Lynnette. “We exchanged numbers and have been dating ever since.”

Every Christmas Lynnette’s family holds an anniversary party for her parents — but little did she know that their 30th anniversary had something special in store for her as well. During the celebration, Marco made a special toast for Lynnette’s parents, congratulated them, turned around and said, “I think I am ready to start my own journey today.” He got down on one knee, and the rest was history.

The lovebirds then began to plan their celebration at Chateau Cocomar. Lynnette and Marco wanted a modern, chic theme, and got exactly that thanks to Keisha’s Kreations. The colors ivory, black and hints of gold set the tone for an elegant evening.

Enchanted Forest-Inspired Wedding at Chateau Cocomar by Civic Photos

Jessica met Oscar at the Aerodome ice skating rink when she was 9 years old and he was 15. “Our families introduced us to each other, but he was too cool to hang out with me. Sparks didn’t fly until ten years later,” tells Jessica. Lo and behold Oscar wasn’t too cool for Jessica anymore, they hit it off and he was ready to make her his wife.

When it came time to propose, Oscar found the perfect moment during their trip to Disney World to get down on one knee in front of Cinderella’s castle. Jessica said, “Yes,” to her Prince Charming, and they began planning their enchanted wedding—inspired by their Disney World proposal—at Chateau Cocomar.
