After starting their wedding planning and vendor search with Weddings In Houston, Marcus and Rachel chose luxurious hacienda-inspired wedding venue The Bell Tower on 34th for their early spring wedding. The venue’s picturesque architecture made for a perfect setting for dreamy wedding day portraits, stunningly captured by Houston wedding photographer Civic Photos.

For their ceremony, the couple took advantage of the versatile venue’s elegant on-site chapel. Rachel walked down the aisle strewn with rose petals to say, ‘I do’ in a traditional wedding ceremony amidst 200 of their nearest and dearest. The romantic, garden-inspired reception décor featured ivory and dusty rose floral arrangements by Plants N’ Petals, beautifully complimenting the grand ballroom. The newlyweds made their grand exit under a shower of rose petals tossed by their guests.

Intimate Destination Wedding in Hawaii

Bella, an operations manager, and Larry, a piping designer, traveled to Colorado for a Texans vs Broncos game, but little did Bella know, Larry had the romantic surprise of a lifetime waiting for her on their trip. “On November 1, 2018, we planned a hike to a lake in the mountains with ‘a friend’ of his,” recalls Bella. “Turned out he was a professional photographer. About an hour into the hike he asked me to sit beside him on a rock overlooking the lake. While admiring the beautiful scenery he tried to get romantic but failed, as I refused to stop throwing snow at him. He finally stood me up and got down in one knee and asked to marry me. With tears in my eyes, I accepted.”

A year later, it was only fitting for the travel-loving couple to have an intimate destination wedding in Oahu, Hawaii. The bride and groom exchanged vows in a romantic beachfront ceremony, overlooking the pristine blue waters of Kāne‘ohe Bay, all beautifully documented by Houston wedding photographer Civic Photos and Houston wedding videographer Meant To Be Films. Following their outdoor ceremony, the newlyweds set sail on a private catamaran cruise and joined 72 of their loved ones in an open-air reception surrounded by lush tropical foliage and majestic mountains. Bella describes the wedding decor as, “Tropical with natural flower arrangements that accentuated the beautiful scenery,” featuring a lovely color palette of ivory, gold and burgundy. Guests dined on coconut shrimp, Jamaican jerk chicken and pork, and Mahi Mahi, before dancing the night away under the Hawaiian moonlight. Matt and Kristine first met 7 years ago and bonded over their mutual love for traveling. Every summer the couple would travel together to a different country or a new state. In addition to loving adventure, Matt and Kristine enjoy spontaneity. They would draw country or state names out of a hat in order to choose their summer travel destinations. Their first international trip was to Costa Rica, and this was where they truly fell in love. “People always say you learn the most about your mate when you travel, so here we are conquering the world one travel at a time,” Kristine says. Their love for adventure shines through in this stunning private airplane engagement shoot captured by Barett Henry of Civic Photos. “I thought it was very ironic to have a shoot with a private plane, because it literally describes us both,” Kristine says.
