For Crystal and Michael, friendship has always had a special meaning. Once their relationship turned serious, Crystal took Michael to meet her family in California, where, to Michael’s surprise, she introduced him as her “friend.” Crystal hasn’t been able to live it down from that moment on, which brought a light-hearted and fun twist to their wedding day.
It was December 2013 when Ben took Matti on a surprise horse-drawn carriage ride to look at Christmas lights. “We stopped under one of the brightest trees to take a picture and as soon as we started smiling, he turned to me and got down on one knee! I don’t think he even asked me to marry him because he was so nervous. I shook my head ‘yes’ anyway. Our entire family and friends were waiting for us to celebrate!” says Matti. Sometimes we come across a wedding whose images are so rich with color and texture, so rippling with life and tradition, so gorgeously representative of the details of the celebration, we kinda just need to let them speak for themselves. Hence the wedding of Ranjita and Suchin, held at Safari Texas and filled with north and south Indian touchstones and influences, representing the pair’s individual cultural backgrounds and families. Radiantly gorgeous in her Pronovias Barcelona gown and glittery Betsey Johnson sky-high heels, bride Angela Oquendo wed dapper groom Stefano Danese in a traditional Catholic ceremony, surrounded by 10—count ’em, 10—of the sweetest little flower girls you’ve ever seen. The couple’s reception, at The Corinthian, was a vision in white linens, candlelight and vibrant-hued flowers—fresh, elegant…in a word, classic. Another word for this regal Houston wedding? FUN! How could it not be, with the bride’s Colombian heritage, the groom’s Italian background, and the DJ’s dance-all-night playlist infusing the celebration with unbridled exuberance ’til the wee hours.
