Oh, how we love a well-planned proposal. Take, for example, Tyler’s to Shannon: After a sunny day of boating together on Austin’s Lake Travis, the groom-to-be feigned a “late” dinner reservation and led his beloved to Windy Point Park, where, after telling Shannon how much he loved her, he spun her around to face the words, “Will You Marry Me?” spelled in rose petals in the sand. He then proceeded to place a ring that he had custom designed for his one-and-only on her shaking-with-excitement hand. The couple’s Crystal Ballroom at The Rice wedding, with its sophisticated palette of blush, navy and gold, and its romantic candlelit glow, wasn’t just elegant—it was also a whole lot of fun: “Everyone enjoyed letting loose and dancing the night away,” Shannon says. “The dance floor was never empty. It was a night of a lifetime!”

I tried on a couple dresses to get more of an idea of what I liked, and I found the one, for an affordable price and a great cause.”

We’re over the moon at having the chance to share with you the awesome engagement session of Houston bridal expert Lisa Toenjes of Brickhouse Bridal!! Archetype Studio shot the delightful Lisa and her great groom-to-be Kevin at the truly remarkable Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, and we are in LOVE with the results. Vibrant, Whimsical Aquarium Wedding by RSVP Studios

We all know it’s important to “love thy neighbor.” But Vanessa and Brandon took the adage WAY to heart. As fellow renters in a Houston apartment complex, the two bumped into each other one night in the hallway. “After meeting once, we couldn’t seem to be without each other, and started out adventure,” Vanessa says. The highlight (so far) of that joyful journey? That would be the couple’s June wedding, starting with a splendid ceremony at Galveston’s historic Grace Episcopal Church, and culminating with a fun-filled (if somewhat fishy) reception at Moody Gardens Aquarium. In her utterly dreamy Exclusive Edition by Allure gown from Houston’s Weddings by Debbie, and with that dazzling smile, Vanessa is the very picture of wedding-day glamour and giddiness—even when snuggling her sweetie whilst ol’ looms overhead.
