Bayou City Event Center is known to play host to large, extravagant Houston weddings…just like Raphael and Eberechukwu’s glamorous wedding!

For their spring wedding, Raphael and Eberechukwu joined 250 loved ones at Bayou City Event Center, a grand and lavish wedding venue in the heart of Houston. The couple pledged their love in the venue’s intimate Lakeview Ballroom. Eberechukwu’s most cherished moment was walking down the aisle in a sparkling princess ballgown to meet her groom.

The versatile venue was transformed into the perfect backdrop for the couple’s royal-inspired wedding. “My decor set the mood of high-style elegance,” notes Eberechukwu, describing the glamorous ivory and gold wedding palette, lush white draping, tall dramatic florals, and floating candles. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner of braised beef and a 7-tier red velvet wedding cake. Says the bride: My wedding was everything I wanted it to be. I wanted it magical yet an event for royalty. It was all of that. I felt like a princess marrying a king.”

We’re delighted to share with you this sweet couple’s glamorous wedding at Bayou City Event Center as we wish them a lifetime of love. Congratulations, Raphael & Eberechukwu!

Metallic Wedding at The Houstonian by Akil Bennett Photographer

Brittney and Jeff grew up in the same town and even attended their high school’s Homecoming together as friends back in 2002, but it wasn’t until much later that the pair officially became a couple. On a trip to San Francisco with Brittney’s parents, Jeff planned a night to remember for his love when he proposed in front of the Golden Gate Bridge on their way to dinner: “The best part was that the Uber driver had my phone and was able to capture the entire thing,” notes Brittney. Surrounded by 250 of their closest loved ones, the pair tied the knot in a formal Methodist ceremony and then gathered for hors d’oeuvre and dancing at the glamorous Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. Metallic hues of gold, bronze and gunmetal gray gave the “lounge”-styled room a fabulously futuristic flair, a live blues band entertained the crowd and Susie’s Cakes & Confections provided a three-tier monogrammed cake for guests to enjoy before hitting the dance floor. The bride’s favorite part of the evening, however, “was when the confetti cannons went off on the dance floor while everyone was dancing and having a good time.” Congratulations, Brittney and Jeff!

Gold, Hot Pink & Black Wedding at Chateau Cocomar

Sometimes reconnecting with your high school boyfriend is a good thing—just ask Houston bride Codi. After graduating college and moving back home, Codi and Austin fell in love all over again and decided this time it was for forever. Codi brought a new meaning to true Houston glam when she wed Austin in a feather-accented Stephen Yearick gown from Brickhouse Bridal. Her vision of a glamorous, fairytale wedding came to life at Chateau Cocomar. “Instead of using the typical blush and white color palette, I added hot pink and black for a more unique look,” she says. Black sequin linens and mercury glass candle holders were just a couple of details that added a romantic yet glamorous look to the decor. We couldn’t help but swoon, and know you will, too, after seeing the lovely photos. Congrats and best wishes to the newlyweds!
