They say if you have to invite your best friend to your wedding, you’re marrying the wrong person. We know that Houston bride Caroline agrees! “Austin and I were best friends for two years before we started dating in 8^th grade. We’ve always loved each other, but were hesitant of it potentially ruining our friendship. We took a leap of faith and decided to follow our hearts.”

When it came time to propose, Austin knew the perfect way to catch her completely off guard. It was his birthday, and Caroline wanted to surprise him with a birthday dinner… little did she know that she was the one in for a treat! As soon as they arrived to the restaurant, Caroline and Austin were led to the back, where she thought all of their family and friends would be—no one was there, and the room was filled with decorations and pictures of them. “I was so shocked, but thought it was all planned for him and I just hadn’t gotten get the memo,” adds Caroline. He showed her a sweet video he made for her, got down on one knee and asked Caroline to spend forever with him.

Rustic Peach & Teal Wedding at Old Glory Ranch

Guys—if you want a guaranteed “Yes” from your bae, you’ve got to get the pups involved, like Kyle did with the love of his life, Caitlin. As the bride recounts, “We rented out a beach house in Port Arkansas with our parents for the weekend. After dinner, we went back to the beach for a bonfire to make s’mores. While setting up the s’mores station, I found a card attached to my dog’s collar. I opened it to find a picture of both of my dogs with a note that said, ‘Mom, can Kyle be our new daddy?’ I turned around and saw Kyle down on one knee.” They skipped the s’mores and went straight to celebrating with Champagne!

Eight months later Caitlin and Kyle wed at Wimberley’s lovely Old Glory Ranch with their closest friends and family to witness. “We loved the outdoor romantic feel of the whole day. Texas wildflowers were in bloom. We had our ceremony on a wooden deck under giant trees, right next to the beautiful flowing Blanco River,” says Caitlin.

Favorite moments? There were many—the pups wore floral wreaths as they trotted down the aisle, there was a monarch butterfly release after the ceremony, and Old Glory Ranch provided four miniature donkeys for guests to interact with during the cocktail hour!

Modern-Rustic Wedding at Chateau Polonez

Brittni and Cameron’s love story is a true high-school dream. She was a cheerleader, and he was a baseball player. A mutual friend introduced them after a game, and it took only two weeks for them to go on a group movie date. Seven years later, they had gone from high-school sweethearts to lifelong soulmates.

Cameron knew that the perfect way to catch Brittni off guard was with a surprise proposal the weekend of his 23^rd birthday. As the bride tells it, “I came back from College Station to attend his birthday dinner in Cypress, and was a little perturbed because he had been very evasive and hadn’t been communicating much the week before. Looking back on it, I should have known what was going to happen, after my mom and cousin took me to get my nails done and helped me pick out an outfit. My mom was so worried that my shirt was wrinkled, which is typical—but she was extra concerned that day.” In true Southern-gentleman fashion, Cameron picked her up in his F250 truck and told Brittni that he wanted to make a pit stop at his uncle’s barn before dinner. Brittni recounts: “We hopped out of his truck and began walking towards the lake, and spotted a little boy laughing while fishing. I was completely oblivious to the situation, and only noticed the roses and mason-jar candles as I ran into Cameron’s back,” she says. “I looked up and saw his face… it immediately brought me to tears. The look in his eyes was nothing I’ve seen before.” Cameron dropped down on one knee, and then came the ugly cries and happy tears.

Rustic Blush, Gold, Cream, Marsala & Pink Wedding

Lauren and Patrick were ready to find love, so they gave Match.com a chance and connected with each other just one month after joining. “After weeks of communicating, we knew more about each other than most people know about each other in months,” says Lauren. Even though Lauren lived in Houston and Patrick lived in Galveston, Patrick drove an hour into the city to take her out on their first date! They chatted for hours over dinner, and needless to say—they hit it off.

Almost two years later, Patrick joined Lauren on her family vacation in New York City, but little did she know, he had a little something special planned for just the two of them! Lauren and Patrick went on a romantic NYC tour that started off with breakfast at Le Parker Meridien, followed by a tour of the Statue of Liberty. “I started to count the cargo ships we saw since Patrick is in the shipping industry and it’s something we’ve done since we began dating,” she says. “After I finished counting, I turned around to tell Patrick that I love him. At that very moment, he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him!”

Navy & Gold Wedding at Ashelynn Manor

A co-worker at a local YMCA (where Erica and Adam met for the first time—keep reading for the fairytale ending…) had said multiple times that the two were meant to be. She knew they would undoubtedly be the most beautiful couple and insisted that they had to get married…even though the two hadn’t even had their first shift together. Adam acted upon their matchmaking friend’s persistent advice and worked up the courage to talk to Erica…and the two have been inseparable ever since. Adam is a New York native and Erica always dreamed of visiting The Big Apple during a snowy winter. So they booked a trip for New Year’s, which of course made Erica suspicious that a proposal might be in the works. On their first night in the city, while posing for some photos in front of the beautifully lit Rockefeller tree, Adam popped the question! Erica remembers the moment like it was yesterday; the freezing weather, the incredible Rockefeller tree, and Adam wanting just one more photo. “So we took another and that’s when he got down on his knee.” Swoon. The Houston couple said “I do” with a romantic navy and gold wedding ceremony at the Ashelynn Manor Chapel, with a reception after at the venue’s Carriage House. The celebration was complete with friends and loved ones, and pretty, pretty floral designs provided by HEB Blooms. Erica and Adam remember their absolute favorite moment from the day, which was “when it was done and we were finally married! Now all that was left was to party!” And we totally agree. We wish this happy couple all the best and more.
